SnapHockey Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 12, 2026  ·  Last Updated: May 12, 2026

1. Who We Are

SnapHockey is operated by DigiTech Dynamics LLC, based in Minnesota, United States. We are the data controller for the information described in this policy. You can reach us anytime at team@digitechdynamics.com.

2. What SnapHockey Does

SnapHockey is an AI-powered hockey training app. You record short clips of your shots, stick handling, or skills, and our AI coach (powered by Google's Gemini API) gives you feedback. You can also generate AI hockey cards from your photos. All AI processing happens only when you explicitly trigger it — SnapHockey does not record or analyze anything in the background.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information you give us directly

3.2 Information collected automatically

3.3 Information processed when you use an AI feature

When you tap an analyze button (Shot Rater, Skill Check, STY Check, AI Coach, Stick Analyzer, or AI Hockey Card), the media you selected is sent to Google's Gemini API for processing:

SnapHockey only sends this data when you actively trigger an analysis. There is no background or continuous capture.

4. Permissions We Request and Why

These are the exact purpose strings shown to you by iOS:

PermissionWhat it powers
CameraRecords video of your shots, body, and stick work so the AI coach can analyze your technique. Video is sent to Google Gemini for processing.
MicrophoneRequired by iOS when recording video, even though SnapHockey strips the audio track before any upload. Audio never leaves your device.
Photos (read)Lets you pick existing photos and videos to send to Google Gemini for analysis or hockey card generation.
Photos (write)Save your training videos, analysis results, and AI-generated hockey cards back to your photo library.
MotionReal-time feedback on recording stability for better shot analysis.
Face IDOptional. Lets you sign in to your account quickly and securely.

5. Google Gemini AI Disclosure

SnapHockey's analysis and card generation features are powered by Google's Gemini API. When you trigger one of these features, the photos or videos you selected are sent to Google for processing. The result is sent back to your device.

For privacy, SnapHockey strips the audio track from video recordings before they are uploaded. Only the visual frames are transmitted to Google. Your microphone audio never leaves your device.

We use the paid Gemini API tier. Google acts solely as a data processor and does not use this data to train its AI models, per Google's published paid API terms. Google may briefly log request data for abuse-detection purposes only. See Google's Gemini API Additional Terms for the full details.

AI features are core to SnapHockey. If you do not want your media sent to Google Gemini, do not use the analysis or hockey card features.
